DPLAfest 2015 has ended
DPLAfest 2015 took place on April 17-18, 2015 in Indianapolis, bringing together over 300 to discuss everything from technology and development, to (e)books, law, genealogy, and education. The annual DPLAfest celebration will appeal to teachers and students, librarians, archivists, museum professionals, developers and technologists, publishers and authors, genealogists, and members of the public alike who are interested in an engaging mix of interactive workshops, hands-on activities, hackathons, discussions with community leaders and practitioners, and more. Alex has been building thematic web archives at Columbia since 2008, helping to define collection topics, identify candidate websites, secure permissions from website owners, scope and run crawls, provide descriptive metadata of archived websites, and oversee quality assurance. He has served on and chaired several ALA cataloging committees and currently co-chairs the IIPC's Content Development Group, working with far-flung colleagues to build collaborative web archives.
